COOL PAPER TERRAIN

I printed out some paper terrain templates for use during Summer Rampage. It will be functional and meet our needs. The store already has three boxes full of terrain so making all this in foam and such might be overkill. (If you want to donate your own materials, time and effort, do it!) I paid about $18 to get this printed out so it's cost effective. If you want your own stuff, go to Skeleton Key Games and pay for the PDFs. They have cool stuff. Please make sure that the templates get put back into the baggy they came in. After Summer Rampage is over, I will collect the templates for future use in events.

Enjoy!

SUMMER RAMPAGE STANDING

I was thinking about it today and realized that the most intelligent thing would not be to assign League points but to calculate Control Points in order to show players where they stand for earning the Summer Rampage '09 pins. (Duh!) So without further ado...

(From the Summer Rampage '09 PDF rules by Privateer Press:)

Awards:
First, second, and third place pins will be awarded to the players
with the top 3 accumulated control points. In the event of a tie, the
higher ranked pin will go to the player who earned more Control
Points.
Tip: Show Me the Money!
In the 2009 Summer Rampage league, a new prize is
on the line – the order that the Mk II force books are
released in 2010.
All WARMACHINE force books will be released before
the HORDES force books, but within their own game,
Summer Rampage determines the book order.
Factions with more territories at the end of Summer
Rampage will receive priority for their book’s release
with any ties being broken by the overall Control
Points of the tied factions.
Watch the league map carefully to secure victory in
disputed territories.
  • Justin: 4 wins ( 500 x4) 12 Control Points
  • Vic: 3 wins (500 x2 and 750 x1) 11 Control Points
  • Dwight: 3 wins (500 x3) 9 Control Points
  • John: 1 win (500 x1) 3 Control Points
  • Macchi: 1 win (500 x1) 3 Control Points
  • Larry: 1 win (500 x1) 3 Control Points
  • Rich: Ringer
Please review your list of games and make sure that I am not making a mistake on my calculations.

HARD FOUGHT BATTLES TONIGHT

We all had another great night of gaming at Whatever!! in DuBois, PA.

The Ladder now stands as follows:

  • Justin: 4 wins (12 league points)
  • Vic: 3 wins (9 league points)
  • Dwight: 3 wins (9 league points)
  • John, Macchi, & Larry: (3 league points)
  • Rich: Ringer
To calculate the league points for the Ladder I am simply adding 3 points for each win. There is no actual Ladder for Summer Rampage because it is a campaign, but I'm using doing it for the fun of it.

THE BATTLE RAGES ON

Summer Rampage continues tonight at Whatever Sports Apparel & Games in the DuBois Mall. The local crew will be gathering to get in some games.
Tonight is Free Play night in the store, and we're using it as our Official League Night. Come on out tonight and roll some dice.

SUMMER RAMPAGE 2009

As of right now The Summer Rampage Ladder is as follows:

  • Vic: 2 wins
  • Dwight: 2 wins and 1 loss
  • Justin: 2 wins and 2 losses
  • John: 1 win and 1 loss
  • Larry: 2 losses
  • Macchi: 0 games

And here's some good information provided by Justin via email:

http://privateerevents.com/rampage#scroll

We'll want to check this before we play any games. It should be updated each day by Privateer Press. When you play a game this determines which player gets to choose which territory the battle takes place in. There are 12 territories.

Rules and maps can be downloaded from here. They are linked at the bottom of the page.

The global effects are described on page 1 and 2 of this document. http://privateerevents.com/public/docs/Summer-Rampage-2008-scenarios-and-effects.pdf

IMPORTANT. Rich, Vic, Dwight and I are registered for the event online thus far. The rest of you need to do so. Go here http://www.privateerevents.com/

"BOOT CAMP" A SUCCESS

Thanks to everyone who came out to make today's Boot Camp event a success! Having six players was great, and I think everyone had a good time.

Congratulations to Vic for taking the event by storm and being declared the Champion of Boot Camp!

Overall Winner: Vic
Hot Dice Award: Justin
The Executioner Award: John

Also, we had a raffle drawing and gave away some small prize kits.

I also had a good time talking to the three guys who came in and expressed interest in trying out WARMACHINE during a demo day. Thanks for checking things out guys, and hopefully if you're reading this you'll keep an eye out for a soon coming Demo Day where you can learn the rules and try out the game for free. Or, just give me a call. (My number is on that business card I gave you!)

All in all a fun day of gaming!

Thanks again to everyone for coming out. See you during Summer Rampage, starting tomorrow!

SUMMER RAMPAGE BOOTCAMP

On Sunday, we will gather at WHATEVER!! in the DuBois Mall in order to get a jump start on Summer Rampage. At the end of the three week campaign, the top three winners will earn the first, second, and third place pins from Privateer Press.

However, Sunday offers some special prizes:

  • The day's overall winner will get $15 of Privateer Press swag. You will get to pick $15 worth of product out of a list of available models for your Faction. The swag will be ordered and you'll get it when it makes it to my door.
  • The day's overall winner will "earn his stripes." These stripes can be added to your Tournament shirt ... if you have one.
  • The Executioner award: Whichever player gets the most victory points throughout the day with earn the Executioner's Axe patch. This can be added to your tournament shirt ... if you have one.
  • The Hot Dice award: Whichever player rolls the most Criticals during the day's events will earn the Hot Dice patch. Again, this can be added to your tournament shirt ... so get one.
(Note: You can only win one of the above so if you are the overall winner, you won't get the other two. And if you get the Hot Dice, you won't get the other two. That way the awards get to more than one person. Simple common sense, I say!)
